Pork and pig derivatives
Haram
Pork and everything derived from it is haram.
Pork, lard, bacon, ham and anything made from pigs is prohibited (Quran 2:173 and 5:3). Pig derivatives hide in shortening, gelatine, enzymes, emulsifiers and flavourings, so a product that lists any pork term should be avoided unless the item is confirmed to be something different.
